We, the members of the Denver Hash House Harriers, in order to form a more perfect hash, establish enjoyment and ensure kennel tranquility, provide for the common virgin, promote the general happiness and secure the blessings of our GM’s for ourselves and our posterity and posteriors, do ordain and establish this Code of Misconduct and Good Beerhavior.

Rule Zero: The Denver Hash has a strict no-tolerance sexual or any other form of harassment policy.

  1. There are no rules.

  2. The Grand Master (GM) is always right.

  3. When the GM is wrong, rule 4 applies.

  4. See rule 1.

  5. The Religious Adviser (RA) is always right except when rule 4 applies.

  6. No stealing (see hereunder – definition of stealing):

    1. Stealing – the covert removal of another Hashman’s property with the intention of depriving said Hashman of such property for an indefinite period of time.

  7. No stealing, but borrowing is okay (see hereunder the definition of borrowing):

    1. Borrowing is the act of covert temporary removal of another Hashman’s property (property in this instance is confined to items of a portable nature and directly related to hashing such as mugs, bugles and run books). Substantial items such as kegs whilst being directly related to hashing should never be borrowed. At all times the property borrowed is held for a relatively short period of time and always returned in good order. Often such property is enhanced by suitable engraving to record for posterity the guile of the borrower. Borrowing is a complex issue and where any doubt exists the Grand Master should be consulted.

  8. Rain is not permitted during Hash runs. The Religious Advisor is personally responsible for ensuring that fine conditions prevail for a period of not less than four hours every hash day.

  9. No training. Persons caught training will be deemed to have breached Rule # 11 and will be liable to a charge. A range of activities may be interpreted as training, and for guidance the following nonexhaustive list is provided: a) Running other than official Hash runs b) Cycling (fornication on a push bike is exempt) c) Visiting a gymnasium for any other purpose than pooping on the way home from w*rk) Using the stairs while escalators are available e) Being raceist at the hash. (see hereunder - definition of raceist):

    1. Raceist behavior at the hash includes but is not limited to: a) Wearing gear displaying, promoting, or endorsing an event dedicated to exercising without beer. b) Trying to be FRB. c) Being the FRB. d) shortcutting trail not out of laziness, but to gain advantage on the pack. e) When the RA says so, see rule 5.

  10. No fighting at Hash. This rule is absolute and the entire culture of Hash relies on strict adherence to this rule. If a fellow Hasher causes you immense displeasure by stealing your car or impregnating your daughter then deal with them at some other place than Hash and on some other day than Sunday which is a day of reverence and tranquillity.

  11. No competitiveness.
